Diamante Azzura Bovelli, known as DIAMANTE, is an American hard rock artist. Her vibrant blue hair will catch your eye, but her mesmerizing voice will draw you in.
“In Spanish, Diamante means ‘Diamond,’ and my middle name Azzura means ‘Blue’ in Italian,” she explains. “If I was a color, I would be blue. I love it, because it’s bold, ethereal, and everything I am.”
DIAMANTE, a Mexican-Italian-American, was born on September 7, 1996. She grew up in Boston and currently resides in Los Angeles. As a child who could speak three languages – Italian, Spanish, and English – she was inspired by the work of J.K. Rowling and Stephen King and began writing poetry and short stories. She dabbled in musical theatre and starred in several school productions before she moved with her family to Los Angeles at the age of 13. It was a School of Rock summer program that ignited her passion for rock music.
For the next few years, DIAMANTE performed locally at small shows on the Sunset Strip. She was determined to develop a “classic rock sound with a modern alternative edge.”
Her hard work and undeniable talent eventually caught the eye and ear of those at Eleven Seven Music Group and Better Noise Records who signed DIAMANTE in 2015. She then spent time in a studio at West Valley Recording Studios in Woodland Hills, California with renowned producer Howard Benson. It didn’t take long for her to record her full-length debut album “Coming in Hot.” Since then, Benson was quoted saying “DIAMANTE is the only true heir to the female rock throne that has been vacant since Joan Jett’s heyday.”
DIAMANTE rose to fame with her singles “Coming in Hot” and “Haunted.” Her fan base grew as she toured with Bad Wolves and was featured in their hit song “Hear Me Now” which has more than 49 million views on YouTube.
Fans have routinely compared her to the likes of Melissa Etheridge and Blondie’s Debbie Harry. YouTube videos for her singles have earned millions of views. As she releases new content and travels across the country, her popularity continues to rise.
In the fall and winter of 2019, DIAMANTE has been traveling the United States on her first-ever headline tour, the Blue Balls Holiday tour.
